Coined in the 1970s by the American rebels looking for ways to connect with something greater, the connected breathing technique has more ancient origins that can be tracked back to the Indian yogic masters.

stan grof [OU1] developed Holotropic breathwork and leonard orr [OU2] developed Rebirthing breathwork, both are based on the conscious connected breathing technique with some differences

leonard started to do this breathwork in his bathtub, guided by visions he began to receive from an Indian Yogi. Soon after, he received a letter from Babaji[OU3]  asking him to come to India. He did so and after much searching found Babaji in the Himalayan mountains. So began the Master and Disciple relationship.

Rebirthing breathwork, from its Indian and American origins, has now spread to all corners of the world with approximately xx trained in the technique
