A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE TECHNIQUES
Breath Circle ∞ The Breath is Life and offers us a simple yet powerful vehicle for transformation and inspiration. During this group breathe you will be guided in how to use the conscious connected breathing technique. You will then have the opportunity to sink in to a deep journey with your breath, creating the space to let go of anything you no longer need to carry, as well as receive amazing insights, inspiration, even bliss, the more authentically you connect.

For a detailed summary of what to expect from a group breath-work session click here.

Yoga Nidra ∞ is a profound, yet simple, practice that leads to a state of being in which the mind lets go of the external world and turns inwards giving the senses a deep rest from the activities of contemporary society.

Basic Breathing Methods and Restorative Yoga ∞ When we have the ability to alter the breath at will, we gain the ability to nourish and optimise the body, and manage the mind and emotions. The benefits of Basic Breathing Methods and Restorative Yoga include the dismantling of chronic tension patterns, enhanced immune function, effective cellular respiration, reduced hypertension in the cardiovascular system, reduced mental and emotional tension, a body-mind returned to a natural state of ease and equilibrium.

Restorative Yoga, Breath-work, and Yoga Nidra Course

Drop in to the RELAXATION RESPONSE

with Yoga Nidra, Basic Breathing Methods and Restorative Yoga.

A 6 week course that teaches you this potent combination of yogic techniques designed to activate the body's relaxation response.

This is a precious tool kit for rejuvenation in our fast paced world.

Yoga Nidra ~ is a profound, yet simple, practice that leads to a state of being in which the mind lets go of the external world and turns inwards giving the senses a deep rest from the activities of contemporary society. The mind is gradually trained to connect into tranquility effortlessly. Yoga Nidra systematically releases tension experienced in the muscles, the breath, and the nervous system. Ultimately the practice works directly on the mind to release impressions from the past and anxieties about the future.

Basic Breathing Methods and Restorative Yoga ~ When we have the ability to alter the breath at will, we gain the ability to nourish and optimise the body and manage the mind and emotions.

Applications in professional life

These yogic tools may be effective in the management of:

  • Stress, Anxiety, Insomnia & Depression

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Addictions

  • High Blood Pressure and Heart Disease

  • Respiratory conditions

  • Neurological conditions and motor impairments

  • Chronic fatigue and adrenal issues

  • Digestive Issues

  • Asthma and Diabetes

COURSE DESIGN

Each class is crafted to explore a different theme, in order to delve in to the many health and well-being benefits this yogic practice offers.

The class begins with restorative yoga asanas (postures), then moves to basic breathing methods, and ends with yoga nidra.

Across the 6 weeks you will gradually be introduced to the different stages of the yoga nidra process, learn a range of different breathing techniques that explore the body's full breathing capacity/capability, and experience a variety of restorative focused asanas/postures that provide a full body practice.

The nature of restorative yoga means it's designed to go gently and elicit deep relaxation. This makes it very accessible to all yoga practitioners - from beginners through to advanced yogis. The philosophy is to work with your 'range of elasticity', to not force this but instead allow the range to naturally expand as you practice.

Soft relaxing music will accompany some of the practice. We will end each session by sharing a hot herbal tea and sweet (healthy) treat together.
